Author: Journeyman Date: 2/21/2009 4:56 pm EDT Don't waste your money buying a RotoZip. Rent a real tile wetsaw. The RotoZip will work on a limited basis but is much too light duty to last and won't cut straight lines without a straight guide of some description. The 4" angle grinder will work but there again - too many cuts using a dry diamond blade will ruin the blade and progress will be very slow. Rent a wet saw. |

Author: Chris Date: 2/17/2009 4:06 pm EDT If you only have a few straight cutd then an agle grinder would work because the cut edge wouls be covered by base or quarter round. Most likely you have many straight cut then a wet saw will best your best option. |

Author: Chris Date: 2/16/2009 1:12 pm EDT Avaire tile is cut with the same tools traditional tile is cut with. An angle grinder with a diamond blade designed to cut porcelain tile or the Roto zip both work great for cutting Avaire tile and both will cut the tray with no problem. To make straight cuts you can either rent a wet saw or use a tile cutter and after snapping the tile gently fold back the tile exposing the plastic tray and carefully use a utility knife and score the tray a few times and continue to fold it back untill the tray snaps. Hope this help. Let me know how it goes. |
