Author: chris Date: 5/26/2009 8:48 am EDT Jonathan is correct, you don't need a vapor barrier under Avaire tile. If you are installing a heated floor system, make sure you follow the manufacturers installation instructions. Some are very simple, some very complex. My favorite is Quiet Warmth from MP Global, very easy to install. Hope this helps. |

Author: Jonathan Date: 5/25/2009 8:29 am EDT I'm not sure if I understand part 2 of the question, but generally speaking, a moisture barrier is not required. In fact, you don't want the tile to move too easily - part of the purpose of the rubber grid is to provide a non-skid function. |

Over cut-back Author: Jim Fremstad Date: 5/22/2009 2:35 am EDT after I level a few areas to raise the concrete to the level of the cut-back and fill chipped areas, should I but a poly vinyl 6 mill vapor barrier over the entire area so that 1) the tile slips easier during installation, and 2) to keep the floor heat system out of the tarry adhesive? |
