Author: Chris Date: 8/21/2008 9:02 am EDT If you are using the 1/4" underlayment to bring the height of the carpeted area flush with the vinyl area that will work fine. A longer straight edge will be needed to determine high and low areas. Rather than buying an expensive straight edge or level you can go to your local home center and purchace a straight piece of 1x6 lumber, make sure it's at least 6' long. |

leveling Author: Colette Date: 8/18/2008 10:06 am EDT If I have a small area to level can I use 1/4 underlayment? The area has 1/4 carpet and the rest is vynil. Also, what is the best way to make sure a large area is level from one corner to anothe? We have a 3 ft level but that is way too small. |
