I could be a few things. A popping or creaking noise usually indicates there's some movement. If it's minor, when it's grouted the noise will stop. If there's a lot of movement, then you will want to...

It's important that the perimeter expansion gap is maintained. If you haven't removed the tabs on the tiles that meet the wall, you should. You mentioned that you have tiles butted up to the wall?...

Not your typical subfloor! I dont know of any hardsurface floors that would approve an installation over joists 48" on center. You will have better luck installing a floor thats floating rather than...

differences between acyrlic and urethane grout

Both the urethane and acyrlic grouts are pre mixed, easy to use. Both are stain resistant and don't require a sealer. If I'm installing a commercial job or installing the 18x18 tiles I would use the...

installation

No, Avaire can't be installed over a laminate floor. There would be too much movement and you would have grout cracking issues. The good thing is laminate floors remove easily.

tub

It's best to remove the tabs at the tub, but if you want you can make the gap a little smaller, I usually go about an 1/8" at tubs and shower bases, so you get a nice caulk joint. Just make sure the...

Avaire underlayment

The smooth side goes up, but I don't think it would cause a failure if it's upside down. Tape the seams with duct tape and leave around a 1/4" gap around all obstructions. Good luck!

grout haze

If you're using the urethane grout the "haze" is shiny, not dull like you described. I have pretty good luck with the Krud Kutter, maybe let it sit for awhile longer before you scrub. Let me know.

As long as the cabinet isn't fastened to the floor you're fine, if the cabinet is fastened to the floor you'll want to install around it.

Both grouts perform very good. If you're doing any type of commercial installation I would use the urethane grout. The acrylic has some cost advantages and in a residential installation it's a good...
