Date: 3/9/2009 9:13 pm EDT I noticed that as I pulled the tiles from their boxes, quite a few had paper/ sticker residue on top from the tile that was packed above it. I cleaned the sticky off w/ goo gone but when the tile is damp, I can make out words from the paper that was resting on it. How can I clean these tiles? I'm ready to grout, but don't want to risk the tiles looking like this when I'm finished. |

Date: 3/10/2009 9:00 am EDT Most of the time just the grouting process will clean any of the residue from the paper. If not i've used mineral spirts and had good luck. Hope this helps |

Date: 4/22/2009 1:50 pm EDT Didn't have time to test on the jobsite today so when I got home I had the kids color on the porcelain tile in the entry, it's the same type tile that Avaire uses. And yes my wife wasn't home! I followed the simple instructions on the package and checked to see if there were any warnings about using on tile, there were none. It cleaned the crayons very quickly so I rinsed the area and waited for it to dry. It left a dull chalky area, so I rinsed it again and it didn't come off. So needless to say don't use magic erasers on Avaire tile. I'll let you know what I end up doing because the rug in the entry won't cover it.Wish me luck. Thanks |
